"My daughter was born with a moderate sized hole in her heart (Ventricular Septal Defect). The cardiologist told us because of the size and location of the hole, the chances of the hole closing up on its own were very slim. He wanted to surgically close the hole by the time she was 1 year old. I immediately started researching alternative medicine to see if there was anything I could do to avoid my daughter having open-heart surgery.
After asking around, a friend of mine told me about craniosacral therapy and how it helped her son with allergy/sinus problems. Though my daughter’s issue was more serious, I figured it was worth looking into. I found Silke’s information on the Internet and called to “interview” her. I wanted to see how craniosacral therapy could help my daughter. Silke explained that she would be working with my daughter’s body through gentle touching to encourage it to operate at its maximum capacity. Because the therapy sounded so gentle, I made an appointment to see her.
We had a follow-up appointment with the cardiologist 2 weeks after our first session with Silke. The doctor was surprised at how well my daughter was doing, with no signs of health problems as a result from the hole in her heart.
He spoke to us again after he reviewed the images from the ultrasound of her heart and was shocked at the results. He said that he had never seen this happen in his entire career: a piece of tissue had started to grow and had covered the length of the hole. Though the tissue has not completely sealed off the hole, it has slowed down the volume of blood flowing between the bottom chambers. He decided because she was doing so well, that surgery could be postponed until she is about 18 month old.
We are now waiting to see if the tissue will continue to grow and completely cover the hole. Meanwhile, we have monthly craniosacral therapy appointments with Silke. She is wonderful at answering my questions about how the body works and how craniosacral therapy can help the body stay healthy. My daughter responds to the therapy very well. Our sessions are always calm and relaxing."

Rainbow colours help heart letting go of fear
I brought my four year old daughter to Silke specifically to address – our favorite four year old subject – bathroom issues! My daughter was having some problems with fears surrounding going to the bathroom. This was manifesting in her having lots and lots of “accidents.”
After only one session with Silke, my daughter stopped having accidents all together. She is much more comfortable using the bathroom by herself and has gained a certain amount of independence that she didn’t have before. Even though there is still fear there, it is much lessened, and we are moving forward in her developments.
Silke is incredible with children. She has a calming affect that is almost unprecedented compared to other children’s therapists that I have seen. Both of my children spent time with her, and even my wild six year old boy was calmed in her presence. She speaks in a very quiet voice, responds to their wishes and treats them with the utmost respect.
I recommend Silke as an excellent therapist to work with children. She is very gifted with children, and they respond beautifully to her inner calm and peace.

Baby - 8 weeks with colic, irritability and sleep disturbances
"Craniosacral therapy has been a very positive influence in my life. For myself and my baby.
My baby developed a very sensitive tummy at 4 weeks of age. She suffered from gas pains and would be so fussy and misrable that she spent more time crying than sleeping.
I started taking her to CST at about 8 weeks of age. After each session she was clearly exhausted. The days following her treatment were when I noticed the benefits: she was calm, the gas and bowel movements happened naturally with no pain or struggling and she slept soundly.
Towards the end of the week I could tell we were ready for another session. She has received 4 treatments all together and is a happy baby without the gas pains and colic now.
The most incredible thing about the treatments is watching my baby interacting with Silke. It is like she just knows that she is helping her. She instantly smiles at her and does so well laying still for her.
